5th Thing Flickr

5th Thing Flickr: Certainly a way to share photos with others. Exploring Virginia Libraries group, I see that Arlington Public Library has a Flickr presence though it merely directs you to its website. Maybe old fashioned branch photo albums are still the way to go as all these photos of library programs would require many many permission forms! I am wondering about a storytime resource catalog on Flickr though! Photo credited to pollyalida of New York State Libraries SRP.

What fun to find my photo of the cute bugs on your blog!!

Hope you're having fun with your 23 things (or is it 20 things?) project. So many ways these tools can help us with our work in libraries and help with outreach to patrons.

Thanks for your comment. I hope it was ok to include your photo on my blog. I'm very new to all of this and the proper etiquette.
Our library system is having fun with the 20 things project which we copied from Charlotte Mecklenberg Public Library's 23 or 24 Thing Project. Our summer reading program theme this year is 'Catch the Reading Bug' so, as a youth services librarian, they immediately caught my eye! Were these photos from a New York State summer reading workshop?

Hi Linda, Absolutely ok to use other people's photos like that! That's why I put a "creative commons" license on my photos, so others can use them. I use other people's flickr photos all the time. The photos were indeed from a summer reading planning meeting! I was just there as photographer and to talk about online promotion of summer readin. :-) I work with the NY State Library on their summer reading web site, so am deep into buggy land like you guys.

If you have summer reading photos on flickr, please join the summer reading flickr group: http://flickr.com/groups/summerreadingprograms/
